Landscape Bed Weed Control & Maintenance Programs

Updated: Feb 24, 2021

Landscape Bed Weed Control Program (4 Visits or Monthly Plan)

The following services are only done in mulch and rock beds

We have developed a successful program that will control weeds with the use of pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides that is safe around annual and perennial plants and shrubs which can eliminate the chore of routinely hand picking weeds. Just as a pre-emergent can control weeds from growing within your lawn, there are products available to control the germination of weeds within landscape beds.

Our 4 Step Program starts with Pre emergent in March, 1 Mid Spring Treatment, and finished with 2 Summer Treatments June-August.

Our 7 visit Monthly program starting in the early spring March and ending in early fall September control the germination of weeds using pre and post emergents. The treatments are generally 4-6 weeks apart.

If needed, we will provide a free respray guarantee for customers to ensure that you are satisfied with our service.

All Seasons Landscape Bed Care Program

The following services are only done in mulch and rock beds.

March

A Spring Bed Clean Up: Trimming/Pruning of perennials; removing any leaves and debris that accumulated over the winter. This service is typically required before mulch application

Bed Edging: Beds will be edged at a minimum depth of 2” to give a neat, defined edge along mulch beds. Edging also helps to hold mulch in place.

Apply a Pre-Emergent: This is the time to prevent weeds. Apply the pre-emergent before mulching. A second application later on ensures protection from weed seeds.

Mulch in beds and tree rings: Will be applied at a depth of 1.5” to 2”. Mulch choices are double ground brown, triple ground brown, dyed brown or black. Beds must be clear of leaves and debris before mulch is applied. This will be done with the ‘Spring Bed Clean Up’. Bed Weeding: If there are many weeds in the beds, this may be necessary as a one-time occurrence before starting bed program.

April-September

Bed Program: A (7) round program to prevent weeds that grow in your landscape beds. The first application (early spring) will be a pre-emergent to minimize the germination of weed seeds in March. Subsequently (once a month for 6 months) mature weeds will be maintained by pulling them or will be removed chemically. We will also spray an Insecticide Treatment for all Tree and Shrubs in Landscape beds during the Summer months once to prevent damage and disease from insects.

November

Fall Bed Clean Up: Trimming/Pruning of roses, grasses, hostas, etc., and leaf and debris removal. Tree and Shrub Dormant Horticultural oil spray and deep root fertilization.
